Bio of Jimmy Buckley....
Jimmy Buckley was born on the 19th November 1971, he stands at 5-7” and has brown eyes and fair hair. Although born and reared in Doon, Co. Limerick, he now resides in Galway with his wife and children. Singing and music play a huge part in Jimmy’s life and he notes Elvis and Buddy Holly as among his greatest earliest influences. Jimmy plays guitar, and his first professional stage appearance was made on the 20th August 1991.
Jimmy’s career is going from strength to strength and he is destined to be a huge star - he is already one of the top entertainers in Ireland, and his ambition is to conquer the English Country Market, not ruling out Europe. Following numerous visits across the water to England, Jimmy is building up a large fan base and his concerts and dances are always sold out. When he finishes one tour his manager Henry McMahon is inundated with requests for details of his next tour.
Jimmy first came to the attention of the Birmingham Audiences when he appeared on Bob Brolly’s Big Charity Show, in the Symphony Hall, Birmingham, on Sunday 22nd June 2003. Since that first appearance Jimmy’s star has certainly continued to rise.
After his massive hit song “Your Wedding Day”(written by his manager Henry McMahon), Jimmy conquered the Irish music scene and he continues to make his mark on the concert scene in England.
In 2007 Jimmy released his first DVD "Live In Concert". The DVD won "DVD of the year" Irish World award and it has been shown coast to coast on U.S television on more than one occasion.
Also in 2007 Jimmy visited Nashville, Tennessee. It was everything he had hoped it would be, from the visit to the Grand Old Opry to the Country Music Hall of Fame but the icing on the cake was the visit to Gracelands, the home of Jimmy's idol, Elvis. Later Jimmy said that the visit was very emotional and inspiring.
In February 2008 Jimmy worked on a Caribbean cruise and then in March/April he toured with Charley Pride.
November 2008 saw the release of "The Grand Tour - Live", Jimmy's second Live in concert DVD & CD. This 23-track DVD builds on the success of Jimmy's first "Live In Concert" DVD.
Jimmy's latest album released January 2010 is called "Country & Me" featuring 15 great tracks.
February and March 2010 saw Jimmy embarking on "The Grand Tour" along with Robert Mizzell and Patrick Feeney. This toured nationwide and the three singers got a great reception wherever they went. Because of the huge success that was "The Grand Tour", plans are already underway to do it all again nearer the end of 2010. More details shall be announced in due course.
