The 9th annual Dundrum House Hotel Philip Walton Pro Am was held on Tuesday and Wednesday 14th and 15th July. The Pro Am proved yet again to be a great success. There were roving showers on the practice day but that didn’t dampen the spirits of all the competitors. A total of 48 teams took part and were blessed with glorious sunshine for the final day’s play. With all the rain in the build up to the tournament, Dundrum played its full length and proved to be too long for some of the professionals.
European Tour professional, Gary Murphy was the only player on the field to better the par of 144, returning a 143 total to claim this year’s crown. Congratulations also to the winning trio of Fr. Pat O’Gorman, Eddie O’Sullivan and Dennis O’Sullivan. The latter holing a magnificent 14 foot putt on the final green to claim top spot and the holiday to Valencia. Thanks to all the teams for the fantastic support and to all the sponsors who once again made the Annual Dundrum Pro Am a memorable one.

The 9th Annual Philip Walton Dundrum Golf Resort PRO AM competition hosted at Dundrum House Hotel Resort, will take place on July 13th, 14th & 15th 2009.
This high profile event is one of the highlights of the PGA Golfing calendar attracting numerous entertainment and sporting celebrities from all over Ireland along with top professionals including: Philip Walton; Garry Murphy; David Higgins; Damien McGrane and our own Euan Little all competing for a totalled prize fund of €30,000.
The course itself was designed by none other than 1995 Ryder cup hero, Philip Walton who has woven a challenging course among the rolling hills, meandering rivers and thick flora of the resort.
The Pro-Am is open to both male and female players with maximum handicaps of 20 and 32 respectively. The format to the competition is a 36 Hole Stapleford format with the two best scores to count on each hole.
Come and take part in the event by entering a team at €1400 (team of 3) which includes 3 Nights Bed and Full Irish Breakfast, 2 Evening Meals and 3 Rounds of Golf. One practice round on Monday 13th followed by two rounds with a top professional on Tuesday and Wednesday. Players and Non players are welcome at our nightly entertainment and we have excellent prizes for the leading teams which includes a holiday to Spain for the winning team.
